Manuscript Review

Writing is very lonely job. It takes a lot of time, effort and perseverance to complete a manuscript. During the process and often after finishing, there is no one to assist the author in improving the manuscript. The author's family and friends may read the book but their opinion and feedback is usually biased because they do not want to offend/hurt the author and neither is the author in a mood to take feedback from people, who, he  knows are not really having any authority on the subject.

Most of the manuscripts get rejected by the junior editors at the publishing house because the manuscripts do not make sense to them or because there are too many inconsistencies. The people in the publishing house really do not have the time or the inclination to tell the author to improve it, since there are many manuscripts already awaiting their turn in the "slush pile". Even though the authors think that their manuscripts are foolproof, mistakes creep in and it needs a fresh perspective of an expert to point these out.
